2025 Silmaril Awards coming soon

August 25, 2025 Off

It’s time for the 10th annual Silmaril Awards! TEN YEARS. A decade of celebrating some of the most amazing characters in fantasy fiction.

This is your chance to nominate your favorite fantasy characters in several categories to see which ones will earn one of the beloved silmarils from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth.

Silmaril awards, the fantasy character awards.

Nominations will run from Sept 1-5.

You’ll vote on the top 5 nominees from each award from Sept 8-12.

The winners will be announced, one on each weekday over the two weeks running from Sept 15-25.

Finally, we will close out this year’s awards with a special online event on Sept 26. More on that below!

Two contests, ten times the chances to win

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of these awards this year we are doing something special. We’re running not one, but TWO contests.

The first contest will take place during voting week. The hosts for each award will be sharing snippets of one of J.R.R. Tolkien’s poems and if you can piece them altogether, you’ll get entered into the contest 10 times!

The second contest will simply be a drawing from those who vote (and submit an email). But this one has a twist as well. Two names will be drawn to compete for the grand prize. But the winners will be determined by a Lord of the Rings trivia contest held by the hosts of the awards.

On September 26th, the hosts will meet online for the contest, with half of the hosts competing for one entrant and half for the other. Whoever’s team wins will walk away with the grand prize and the other entrant will receive the runner-up prize.
