2020 nominations are open
They’re back. The 2020 Silmaril Awards have begun! It’s time to nominate your favorite fantasy characters to see which one will take home the coveted prize of a silmaril from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth!
Below you’ll find links to nominate your favorite characters. All you have to do is leave a comment with the name of your character and what book he or she is from.
If the character you were thinking of has already been nominated just reply to someone else’s comment with a second. The five characters who receive the most nominations and seconds will make it to the voting round. And you can nominate and second (and third and fourth, etc.) as many characters as you want!
The cutoff for accepting nominations is midnight CST Time, September 4th!
These are your awards. Let your voice be heard. Go forth and nominate!
WordPress refuses to let my log in on Zachary Totah’s website. 🙁 If I could, I would nominate Janner from The Wingfeather saga, and Helmer, from The Green Ember series for Most Epic Hero.
Sorry about that, Audrey. Zach has been contacted. If you could try back tomorrow, maybe he’ll have it fixed.
There is no Click Here to vote on any site. Super frustrating. Do I need to login somewhere? It closes tomorrow, but I guess you have to be an insider to figure out how it works.
Sorry, you’re having problems, Sandra. You don’t actually have to log into anything, just leaving a comment is how we tally the nominations for this part of the awards. Once we have the five finalists, there will be a form for you to vote on for the winners. Hope that helps.
I vote for Horace in Rangers Apprentice and Ron Weasley in Harry Potter
Which categories did you want to nominate from?
Only five days? I wish you’d left this open over at least one weekend–I only saw it on Facebook today!!
Sorry, Alex. We used to run it for longer, but found people didn’t nominate much in the second week. You can still vote for the winners, though. Stay tuned for the announcement on Sept. 7th.
